Yesterday the Governor issued an executive order which requires that all non-essential businesses be reduced to 25% workforce capacity until further notice in response to efforts to contain COVID-19. 

Here are the key points:

  • This goes into effect on March 20th, 2020 at 8:00 pm 
  • All businesses and not-for-profit entities should utilize to the maximum extent possible any telecommunication and work for home procedures 
  • Non-Essential Businesses must reduce in-person workforce by 25%
  • Essential businesses can remain at full operating capacity:
    • Essential health care operations
    • Laboratory and research services 
    • Essential infrastructure
      • Utilities 
      • Airports 
      • Transportation infrastructure 
    • Essential Manufacturing
      • Food processing 
      • Pharmaceuticals
    • Grocery stores 
    • Pharmacies 
    • Trash collection services 
    • Mail and shipping services 
    • News media 
    • Banks and related financial institutions 
    • Providers of basic necessities to economically disadvantage populations 
    • Construction
    • Vendors of essential safety services and products
    • Sanitation and essential operations of residences and essential businesses 
    • Logistics and technology support providers
    • Childcare 
    • Services needed to maintain government operation
